How Chinese Families Benefit from T20 Education Services
Academic Preparation Courses

The online lessons familiarise pupils with the style of teaching they will enjoy in England, as well as providing subject knowledge. The subjects most often chosen by Chinese families for a course of lessons are:
- History
- TPR
- Geography
- Science
- French
- Spanish
- Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning (essential for pupils preparing for senior school entry tests including Eton, Harrow, Wellington, Radley, Rugby etc)
A course of eight lessons will include an introductory meeting with the pupil and parents (or education agent). A detailed report will also be provided at the end of the course, which is useful for the British school the child will be going to. Pupils of all ages can benefit from these lessons as they are differentiated to help children of all ages starting school in Britain.

T20 Education Services
The world renowned English private schools start the admissions process in Year 6. The form these tests take varies slightly from school to school, but usually involves an online verbal and non-verbal reasoning test. There is often an interview with the Headmaster/mistress or a senior member of staff such as a Housemaster.
English Private Schooling System
Preparatory schools take pupils from Year 3 (aged 8) to Year 8 (aged 13) and prepares them for entry into senior schools. Pre-testing for senior schools starts in Year 6 (aged 11) and concludes with the Common Entrance exams in Year 8.
If going on to a senior boarding school, pupils should ideally gain experience of boarding whilst in their prep school. A lack of boarding experience makes the transition to a large senior boarding school much harder, so choose a prep school that has boarding. This can be for one or two nights a week, weekly five-night boarding or full seven day a week boarding.
Senior schools start at Year 9 with the first set of public exams, GCSE’s, taking place at the end of Year 11 (aged 16). Pupils leave school after Year 13 (aged 18) having taken A Levels – these results determine university entry.

Choosing an English School
T20 will then advise and help you through the senior school application process, visiting schools with you (plus your education agent if required), and your child. We then help the child through the pre-test process by providing practice tests, identifying areas of weakness and giving interview preparation. This can take place online or in person in China or the UK, depending on travel restrictions.
Some senior schools do have late availability, and T20 Education Services can help source these rare opportunities, if required, through our relationships with the senior school admissions teams.
The charges for these services vary depending on the level of involvement you want from us. However, as you can see, we are here to help you and your family every step of the way before and during your child’s exciting journey through the British education system.
